Claude Samson

Claude has more than 40 years’ professional experience, acquired mainly in financial management positions with major Canadian companies.

Claude most recently served as Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Positron Inc. Previously, Claude held similar positions in the renewable energies sector with ALSTOM Énergies renouvelables, North America, in the international telecommunications sector with Teleglobe Canada and AlphaNet Télécom Inc. (as COO – a start-up that introduced the first incarnation of VoIP in telecommunications to commercial service worldwide), in the financial services sector with Canada Trust Financial Services and Laurentian Group Corporation, and in consulting engineering with UK-based AMEC. Claude also headed IBM Global Consulting’s Financial Management consulting practice in Quebec for six years.

His track record as an executive testifies to solid domestic and international experience in financial, strategic and operational management. Claude is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA, CA). Claude holds an MBA from McGill University. He is also a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada (ICD.D).

Bertrand Nepveu

Bertrand Nepveu has entrepreneurial spirit in his blood, like his grandfather Ernest who founded LAVO, manufacturer of the La Parisienne brand of bleach. Passionate about video games and gadgets, he founded Vrvana in 2005 to play his favorite Xbox games in virtual reality. After several pivots: combining augmented and virtual reality, moving from a B2C to B2B model, and adding hands as a controller, the Totem wins Tom’s Hardware’s prestigious Best in Show award at CES 2017. He then moved with his team to California to continue the Apple adventure. After almost 3 years, he returned to Montreal and co-founded Triptyq Capital to support the new generation of entrepreneurs in the creative industries. Bertrand holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Université de Sherbrooke and an MBA from HEC Montréal. He is also co-author of the Manisfeste québécois du Métavers.

An entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience in the distribution, marketing and deployment of technological products, Marc Desparois is a pioneer in the field of energy conservation. He was one of the first Canadians to work on the development of new lighting devices with optimized consumption and efficiency. A visionary when the concept of energy efficiency was in its infancy in Canada, he took the commercial and industrial market by storm and developed a distinctive approach to energy control and performance.

He is the founding president of NRG Management and O-Led, which manufacture and market lighting and control systems in Quebec, and is also founding president of Opti-Com Solutions, which specializes in the integration and deployment of building automation and management technologies for buildings and infrastructures.

Marc Desparois is inspired by the new technologies that are opening up the market for a better, safer, more sustainable world for generations to come.

Michel Juneau-Katsuya

Michel

A security assessment and intelligence consultant with over 40 years’ experience, Michel is recognized internationally as one of Canada’s most consulted experts in international and national security, intelligence, and economic and industrial espionage.

He served with the RCMP as a criminal investigator and subsequently with CSIS in a variety of executive and senior intelligence roles, including Senior Soviet Counter-Intelligence Investigator, Asia/Pacific Bureau Chief and National Counter-Terrorism Program Coordinator, to name but a few. In civilian life, he has worked on assignments in more than 50 countries, where he has managed various safety and risk analysis projects.

Michel studied for his doctorate in political philosophy and now teaches criminology at various universities. He is regularly in demand as an analyst/commentator by various national and international media on public safety and national security issues. He has published books on intelligence and espionage activities in Canada. He is frequently called as an expert witness before various courts, parliamentary and senate committees.

Lucien Dubois

An electronics enthusiast from an early age, Lucien Dubois discovered the vast potential of the Internet at his hometown’s public library, a moment that triggered his fascination with the infinite horizons of computing.

Lucien and his brother Olivier founded Dubois International in 2012. The company quickly became a success, earning the trust of major customers such as Alphabet, Aliments du Québec, the Government of Quebec, Desjardins, JEMB Realty, BUSAC Immobilier, Air Creebec, Groupe Robin, Bombardier Aerospace, Radio-Canada, Solotech, CTEQ, Répertoires des parcs industriels du Canada, Goss Gilroy inc, StartupStash, FPJQ, and Université de Montréal, among others.

On the strength of these achievements, Lucien is also involved in various companies as an investor and mentor.

As Director of Technological Development at Dubois International, Lucien initiated innovative projects, including the launch of a space balloon to capture unique images. Always on the lookout for the latest advances, he cultivates an innovative and environmentally-friendly approach.

His passion for sharing knowledge has led him to lead seminars and speak at conferences on innovation, both at annual events and in one-off contexts.

Benoit Daigneault

A passionate entrepreneur, Benoit founded Alco Sécurité in 1989, a company specializing in the design and deployment of high-security systems. With a prestigious customer base that includes companies such as Bombardier, Canadair, INRS, Softimage, Microsoft and Mastercard, Alco has enjoyed over fifteen years of technological success in the service of safety for people in their environment.

In 2004, following the development of the innovative XMI SmartLink addressable communication link, the idea of distributed intelligence emerged. This led to the creation of XMI Systems SA in 2009. As the cradle of excellence in mechanical engineering and RFID identification, Switzerland has become a privileged strategic partner for the precision design and miniaturization of XMI smart modules.

Since 2014, Benoit has also been active in Asia, where, over a period of more than six years, he has established exceptional business relationships with collaborators and suppliers specializing in various fields, including molding processes and high-level assembly and production techniques. This experience gives XMI direct access to a multitude of technologies and market opportunities.

Benoit distinguishes himself as an architect of intelligent technological concepts. Its aim is clear: to turn cutting-edge technology into a tool for human well-being.

In 2023, Benoit set up XMI Intelligences Systems in Canada, where he is CEO, and unveiled the iOne concept, initially aimed at the North American market.

Apart from his professional commitments, Benoit is a passionate piano player. An epicurean, he has a passion for nature and oenology, and is particularly fond of sharing moments with good friends.
